LESSONS LEARNED FROM VIETNAM VETERANS

PLEASE JOIN US FOR A SPECIAL PRESENTATION BY
JUSTICE EILEEN MOORE, FORMER COMBAT NURSE IN VIETNAM.
In recognition of the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam
War, Heroes Hall Museum & Education Center presents a new
speaker series titled “Echoes of Conflict: Remembering Vietnam.”
The series will run on select Saturdays from 2 to 3 p.m. throughout
2025, in conjunction with its latest exhibit of the same name.
History does indeed tend to repeat itself. We can look at what happened to our service members
in past wars to predict what might happen in the future. We can also look at the kinds of things
that happened in the civilian world during a war to predict what might affect our veterans.
Justice Eileen C. Moore was appointed to the Superior
Court of California in 1989 and to the California Court of
Appeal in 2000. She spent her nonjudicial legal career in
private practice in Newport Beach. Prior to becoming a
lawyer, she practiced as a registered nurse, including
service as a combat nurse in Vietnam while serving in the
Army Nurse Corps. Justice Moore is a tireless supporter of
veterans. She is a life member of Vietnam Veterans of
America. She founded and chairs the Judicial Council’s
Veterans and Military Families Committee, and serves on
the Veterans Justice Commission, which works with
Congress to improve the transition of military service
members into civilian life.
