Our starting bid approach: We set starting bids at roughly 40–50% of each item’s fair market value (FMV), per standard nonprofit auction practice — this lowers the barrier to that first bid and builds bidding momentum as it climbs. FMV is listed with each item so bidders can also calculate their tax-deductible portion.
